Staying local
Just birded the south of the island today in very windy conditions and very quiet it was, we did manage to find our own yellow browed warbller at quendale and a couple of spot fly's around sumburgh farm and saw the syke's warbler again at channelwick.
Tomorrow we are off to Unst in search of the Hornamans Arctic redpoll.

What a day.......
Well we started with cracking views of Radde's warbler just down the road from our lighthouse, then took a hour and a half boat trip to the outer skerries where a good list of birds were reported yesterday and they were still there today ! Within half hour of landing we had all had good views of both CItrine wag and black headed bunting with a supporting cast of short toed lark and red breasted fly and with Lanceolated warbler found in the afternoon!! With both yellow browed and barred warblers both seen early doors we had probably all had a day to remember.

East meets west
We eventually arrive on mainland Shetland via a taxi ride from gatwick to Birmingham!! A cracking start to our week with Booted Warbler (well done bradders) showed on and off and with yellow brow and barred warbler in the same tree along with a single brambling! And was just a mile away when a Swainsons thrush was found and successfully twitched and showed well.what will tomorrow bring?????
